“Real life experiences and practical training enable students in ecology & biodiversity to become young leaders in nature conservation!”

It is the objective of the teaching programmes of ecology and biodiversity at HKU to empower students with the requisite knowledge and skills in nature conservation, as well as inspire them with the requisite professionalism, pragmatism and dedication. In the DEB courses, not only do students learn about the 'rules of existence' for organisms in nature, but special reference is made to the ways in which humans have impacted upon the natural environment. Students are asked to assess and evaluate the various approaches used to manage or ameliorate such impact.
